Sonja Smout

Sonja is a MoreGoodDays success story. Diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in 2012, she had to stop working as a veterinarian. She spent 10 years learning to manage her condition with limited resources and information. After a LOT of trial and error, she started improving instead of going backwards. She became a marriage celebrant at the end of 2019, which turned out to be not the best timing to start a celebrant business! In 2022, she found the MoreGoodDays program, which condensed that 10 years of learning (plus even more) into one convenient program. From there she has gone from strength to strength in every area of her life. Mentally, physically, socially – she even does her fair share of the housework again! MoreGoodDays was a turning point in her life, and she is excited to have the opportunity to help others learn to manage their fibromyalgia. She still does a little volunteer vet work, and performs the occasional wedding. In her spare time she likes to garden, read, crochet, sew, do paper crafts, and bake.

Areas of Interest

Fatigue was the symptom that had the biggest impact on Sonja’s life. Because of this, she has a special interest in helping people with their fatigue as well as the pain that comes with fibromyalgia. Pacing and boundary setting are two of her favorite topics, as she found these to be the most impactful on her fatigue. She is also learning to love exercise – but doing it the right way!
